The Harmony and Beauty of Venus and the Venus Starpoints
One of the primary images of Venus that has been handed down to us through the ages from mythology is that she is the goddess embodying love, beauty, harmony and peace. She brings this to us through her lineage: the gods Harmonia and Eros were her offspring. But, is this a myth?
In fact, science shows us the myth is real, and in Venus Star Rising, Arielle Guttman weaves together the fabric of mythology (which includes astrology) with science (astronomy, geometry, mathematics) to produce the evidence that we have all come to know and honour about Venus: harmony, beauty, love and passion are all indeed her products. Arielle further concludes that if we are in sync with Venus, we too are subject to these same bountiful gifts.
Further, we are able to attract those delightful and joyful energies to us, as well. In Arielle’s 4+ decades as an astrologer, she acknowledges that these are the things that most people are seeking in their lives.

Arielle Guttman
After 30 years immersed in the field of astrology, Arielle Guttman was not actively searching for any new techniques. She had attended all the major conferences and heard most of the leading astrological authorities of her time. Over those years, she had collected and synthesized a personal way of working with astrology that involved mythology, archetypes, dreams, healing, and psychological and spiritual insights.
Arielle Guttman’s particular loves were well-covered in the two-volume set of “Mythic Astrology” she co-authored with Kenneth Johnson. Another deep interest was planetary astro-mapping, having been certified by Jim Lewis (in 1986). She moved on to incorporate new methods into Astro*Carto*Graphy, including the use of asteroids, nodes, Chiron, and Local Space. What emerged from that was her passion for Geodetics (Earth Astrology), which focuses on how the planets transit around the Earth, forming “hot spots” during certain periods of time.
This dedication to established and complex techniques meant that Arielle already had her hands full. But then, in 2004, during the first transit of Venus across the Sun, Venus began streaming information to her about her pentagram and individual star points. It was a body of knowledge, she was “told,” that might take a full century for people to really grasp.
Yet, this new information was both exciting and proven to be astoundingly accurate in personal chart work. Seven years later, the material was published in the book Venus Star Rising: A New Cosmology for the 21st Century. Since then, Arielle has devoted most of her practice to using this material in ways that can open people’s eyes to the unconscious drives and needs that motivate them in life. She encourages others to check it out for themselves. It has been over sixteen years now since the Venus Star Point theory arrived, and she is still as captivated by its message as she was then.
For Arielle Guttman, the VSP is truly the starting and ending point for all her astrological pronouncements. She believes Venus has finally been restored to a much grander and fuller archetypal energy than what had been previously attributed to her. Her Star, or Pentagram, is considered the Cosmic Heart Beat of the Earth and its inhabitants.
