Temperament
Astrology provides a model of the human being which aims to get to the core of the body and the soul. But how do we do that?
Since ancient times, the quest was to find the essence of the individual, the unique balance of forces that is Temperament.
Temperament is the true essence of the individual, the skeleton on which the personality and the soul are hung. The ability to correctly assess temperament is one of the most important skills as an astrologer: it is the key that unlocks the chart and reveals behaviour, health and much more, and most importantly, gives the ability to offer guidance in a way uniquely suited to the individual whose chart you are examining.
This talk examines how temperament is found in the chart and how we can use it to offer the best possible astrological advice.
About the Presenter
Rod Suskin
Rod Suskin is a well-known South African astrologer. He has written columns and articles for many major publications as well as having regular shows on TV and radio. Studying astrology since childhood, he has practiced professionally since 1989 and teaches a three-year online Diploma course, based firmly in the traditional practice but aimed towards the 21st century astrologer.
Rod was initiated as a traditional African sangoma in 1982. He is the author of a number of books on spiritual life as well as the Llewellyn astrology books Cycles of Life and Synastry. He also contributes regularly to a variety of publications in South Africa and was commissioned to write about the national chart for the official parliamentary newspaper. He has an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales.
